What is the difference of Lace Frontal & Closure?

What is a Closure?

A lace closure is the better choice for women who love middle parts and simple hairstyles. Closures do not recreate a hairline, there are three different options: a middle part free part and three-part closure. The closure standards usually measure 4×4, 4 inches long and 4 inches, 5×5 or 6×6 and 7×7 wide like a perfect square. It covers temple to temple size and is placed in the middle on top of the head in a horseshoe part. The lace closure is naturally more flexible and thinner than the silk closure. It conforms easier to your head, the result is a flat and seamless installation, it gives a natural look without the need for blending. Lace closures are sewn in place.

What is a Frontal?

A lace frontal is the best choice for women with thinning edges. You can easily mask hair loss along your hairline with an ear-to-ear lace frontal. A lace frontal closure is a half wig which goes from ear to ear and 3-4 bundles of hairs used to sew it. A lace frontal is very versatile. You can try multiple hairstyles with a 360-lace frontal including pulled back styles. The standard size of a lace frontal is 13×4 inches. Frontals are usually more expensive, but you also need fewer hair bundles. Lace frontals are usually bonded because it goes in front of the hairline.

Lace Frontal and Lace Closure What’s The difference?

The biggest difference between the two is Size. Lace closures are normally 4×4 inches in size and are placed in the middle of the head or on the side for a side part. Lace frontals are typically 13×4 inches in size, they go from ear-to-ear, which gives greater coverage, allowing you to be able to part the hair anywhere and gives more flexibility in styling.

The next difference is Versatility closures measure 4 inches by 4 inches and need very little maintenance. It blends in very well with your natural hair. Closures are used to recreate the natural parting of the hairline and are normally sewn into place. While frontals recreate the hairline from ear to ear and are bonded in place in order to add versatility of the styling. Also, a skilled stylist can use invisible threading to sew a lace frontal in place behind the hairline. Lace frontals cover the entire hairline and allow for a seamless style that you can pull back off of your face.

Cost is the next major difference. Lace frontals are much more expensive than lace closures, but closures are the best option for simple everyday looks and/or for those who wish to maintain an exact style like a middle part. Both closures and frontals can be sewn in or constructed into a wig, with a frontal will provide the most styling versatility.
